This paper cites College English for non-majors as an example to discuss quality is the key in changing from 3-year college to 4-year college.We need to improve teaching quality from three aspects.Firstly,the positioning of educational principles and policies of the college must be appropriate,and the college must have its unique academic characteristics;secondly,the course set-up and teaching content must be properly arranged,and textbook construction work has to be strengthened;thirdly,the initiative of both teachers and students must be promoted.
