Abstract:A survey of residents' access to information in Xide County, a poverty-stricken county in the country, found that, in minority poverty-stricken areas people’s possession of media means is at a lower level, their selection of media forms is complex, they care more about policy information and hold positive attitudes toward changes of national and media information development, and they have full confidence in their future life. Proposals: to build an information exchange platform to promote the smooth flow of information; to promote the growth of local media and improve their targeted information dissemination; and to attach importance to minorities' media literacy education in poverty-stricken areas.
