Abstract:From the trend of world music culture, music education in all countries faces an open and global music culture environment and reality, and cultural pluralism has become a common trend of human music culture in the 21st century. Traditional music can contribute to art education. Ethnic Yi People’s traditional music has aesthetic and artistic values and is a treasure in the music culture of China. It is necessary and feasible to offer a pluralistic music education to preschool teachers by incorporating general music and local national music into the curriculums in preschool teacher colleges in ethnic Yi regions. By careful choices of Yi folk songs, dances, music, instrumental music, and classical music and dance works with both Yi musical elements and higher artistic quality, and by integrating them into the general music curriculums of piano, vocal music, dance, audition and ear training, we can achieve the purpose of building systematic local national music curriculums in preschool teacher colleges in ethnic Yi regions.
