The subject-verb agreement is one of the most basic issues in English grammar.Quirk et al.proposed the three basic principles(grammatical concord,notional concord,and proximity)should be followed.However,many linguistic phenomena which violate these principles have been emerged.This article tries to explain its inevitability from three perspectivesl:anguage prescriptivet,he fuzziness of grammatical categories and language change.
