Critical thinking is an intelligent activity in which an individual decides on something or phenomena according to a given criterion, and then makes a decision or draws a conclusion. In college English teaching practice, students' critical thinking can be cultivated by developing students' appreciation of texts, encouraging them to think actively and bring out questions from multiple dimensions, with linguistic points and textual ideologies as scaffolds.
