The phrases "ten points（十分）" and "twelve points（十二分）" are two synonymous adverbs meaning "very much" in "Modern Chinese Dictionary" in the seventh edition，which are used to describe the deep degree . The tone of "twelve points（十二分）" is more intense than "ten points（十二分）". As to the lexicalization and grammaticalization of“ten points（十分）”，scholars have much researches and studies. However, there are few previous studies about the lexicalization, grammaticalization and the later development of "twelve points（十二分）". Therefore, this paper focuses on the lexicalization and grammaticalization process of"twelve points（十二分）", and on this basis, compares the differences in both time and diachronic time of the two phrases.
