The pun (Pun) is one of the figures of English speech, many writers like to use it，its principle is to use the rhetoric effect of polysemy, homophone and homograph pun and achieves multiple functions of a word. This article researches the classification of English pun and its rhetorical function, and then explores the translation of English pun and Chinese pun from the two aspects of the homophonic pun and allegorical pun, finally promotes the development of Chinese literature and English literature.
