Abstract:Cultivation of creativity across curriculum is a buzz word in China’ 8 recent (liscourses on higher education. This emphasis on creativity, its potential benefits put aside, challenges traditional practices of teaching English majors. Rooted in this intellectual liackground, this paper explores the possibilities and problems of teaching creativity through analyzing visuals on posters in a cultural class for English majors. Gauging from written works of the learners and data from a structured interview, it was estahlished that the effect of current method varies across different groups of learners.
