Abstract:Ersu Tihetans-who reside in Mofang Village, Zela Township, and Ganluo County-utilize a particular type of ancient farm tool, which hears the Han Chinese name “foot plow." The foot plow is comprised of two parts, the coulter and the body: the coulter is made from cast-iron and the liody is made from wood that has undergone a natural hending process in the mountains. The foot plow is simple in structure, making full use of the principles of mechanics to maximize efficiency, and is therefore an indispensilile work implement for the Ersu Tibetans. The foot plow represents the remains of the Ersu Tibetans ’ ancient farming culture in Zela Township and Ganluo County, and is of immense value as an archaeological enterprise and a study of farming culture
