With corpus linguistics research method and based on the statistic from The Corpus Of Contemporary American English （COCA）, it makes a comparative study on word frequency, collocation and semantic prosody between ＂real＂ and ＂true＂ in this paper. The research indicates that ＂real＂ is more often used in all register than ＂true＂, especially in newspaper. ＂True＂ prefers to modify nouns with positive and neutral prosody, and the positive prosody nouns modified by ＂true＂ rank in first forefront according to Mutual Information Score.
