Thinking and language are closely related. The Differences between English and Chinese thinking modes significantly influence the writing teaching method of English major students. Based on the relationship between thinking and language, the paper analyses the effects of the differences between the two thinking modes on English writing in the aspects of diction, sentences, layout and so on, and puts forward the measures of overcoming mother tongue interference and constructing of English thought pattern in writing.
