Abstract:Facing severely domestic and international situation, Elizabeth abandoned the traditional foreign policy and adopted the diplomacy of balance of power, in which the marriage negotiation was applied as an instrument of diplomacy policy, in the beginning of Elizabeth I ascending the throne. In the first decade of Elizabeth's domination, France is the main club to the United Kingdom, so Elizabeth has adopted the policy of combining Spain to restrain France. When Spain became a British enemy, the British turned to the matrimony diplomacy of the West of combining France to control Spain.
