This article is based on a case which we discovered in the field research of Mosuo culture by observing the process of and the subsequent response to the selling and rebuilding of a house of a Mosuo family. It aims at explaining the cultural significance of the information revealed so as to point out the emergency and importance of arousing the cultural consciousness in the preservation of minority culture and put forward some preliminary suggestions.
