Abstract:Based on the relevant theories and research findings of Second Language Acquisition and the relevant theories of teaching method, the present paper aims at the description of the current situation of Tibetan EFL students' English learning, attempting to give some useful suggestions for the improvement of English learning for students in Tibetan area. By means of a set of English test, questionnaire and individual interview for Tibetan students, the study focus on the situation of the application of different kinds of teaching methods especially the Grammar-Translation method in this area.
