Nowadays,large English classrooms are a widespread phenomenon in Chinese universities.In such classes,the students' communicative competence doesn't get fully improved.So,in order to change this situation,the Communicative Language Teaching Approach is introduced into universities.Being different from traditional language teaching approach,the communicative approach pays great attention to the real significance of language teaching,that is,to guide the students to participate in communication as much as possible.Howev- er,it is indeed a very hard job for the teacher to reach this aim.How to conduct a communicative language teaching class?Going around this question,this thesis introduces the concrete way of work from three different aspects of the group managerial strategy,the students' interests and the teacher's role in class.For each aspect, the author explains in detail how they are working in a communicative language teaching class.
