With a detailed study of all Akutagawa Ryunosuke's group works ab out China, this paper analyzes his spiritual world and the essence of his though ts. It suggests that in his group works his good imagination of ancient China is not to reveal his kind feeling for China, but to express his life ideal. Some p sychological descriptions in these works reflect the general Japanese attitude t oward China at that time.
