Abstract:The establishment of Fengyang Zhongdu in Ming Dynasty has special significance in the history of ancient capital construction in China. The capital of the Ming Dynasty experienced three stages: selecting the site for promotion, planning and constructing the capital for the demonstration of orthodoxy, and striking for horizontal power. The construction and disestablishment of the capital reflected the change of political trends in the early period of Hongwu. From the evolution of the relationship between Zhu Yuanzhang and the Huaixi Group, the short life of Zhongdu was determined by Zhu Yuanzhang''s subjective changes in the pursuit of the imperial throne, the orthodoxy of the state, the maintenance of the central authority, and the balance of the power of the monarch and his subjects. At the same time,it was also determined by Huaixi Group who aimed to nurture geological politics to maintain its interest in the imperial court. The adjustment of the relationship between Zhu Yuanzhang and the Huaixi Group created the political ecology of the early Ming Dynasty.
