Metaverse is a new form in future Internet development and education is an important field of metaverse application. By analyzing the difficulties faced by journalism and communication education in the current era of intelligent media and the conditions provided by the basic characteristics of the metaverse for its entry into the educational field， we tap the potential of deep integration of the future metaverse and journalism communication education， and creatively propose an approach for the metaverse to empower future journalism and communication education. However， we need to be alert to challenges such as capital threats， addiction risks， and digital colonization brought about by the metaverse， and give critical response to them. Finally， we argue that metaverse governance should be carried out from three levels of international coordination， national intervention， and corporate management， so as to provide constructive thoughts and inspirations for exploring high-quality innovative development in journalism and communication education.
