The ethnic areas， especially the "three regions and three prefectures"， are faced with backward economy and severe shortage of talents. Therefore， it is crucial and urgent for the colleges and universities in ethnic areas to cultivate application-oriented talents with decent morality， deep national affection， solid knowledge， strong intention to serve， high comprehensive quality， and great resilience. Educational physiology in the new era needs to be integrated into the whole process of talent training in the universities in ethnic areas， who should position and blend themselves in the local area to educate application-oriented moral talents with better comprehensive quality and ability to serve the socio-economic development of the ethnic areas. This paper explains the practical path of the comprehensive quality education for students in Xichang college to provide certain perspectives and inspiration for the quality education for college students in the ethnic area in the new era.
