Dialects are the carrier of regional culture. The dialects in the Sichuan-Yunnan joint places find ways into each other in the economic and cultural exchange of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, investing them with distinctive characteris- tics of both Sichuan and Yunnan dialects. In this paper we analyze the appellations of people, human relatives, human characters in the dialects ecology of Huili county in the joint Sichuan-Yunnan regions, and discuss the cultural character- istics of the unique dialects. Thus we can appreciate the elegance of a thousand-year-old historical and cultural city, ap- preciate the profound dialect culture, and better help people in dialect regions to master the knowledge and laws of dialect and Mandarin, so as to better promote the exchange of language and culture
