With the rapid development of contemporary digital communication and media technology, the cross-media com- munication environment has brought unprecedented opportunities for the development of narrative arts, including tradition- al film and television works and emerging short videos, thus giving rise to new cross-media and hypertext narrative forms. Compared with traditional film and television works, short video works in the context of cross-media have evolved from a closed narrative structure to an open narrative structure, from a single linear narrative to a cross-media three-dimensional narrative, showing fresh traits of multi-dimensional narrative perspectives and fused narrative voices. To clarify the devel- opment and evolution of short video works is of particular importance to the development of video industry in the era of fu- sion media.
