This paper first discusses the essential meaning of green development, then analyzes the main dilemmas facing China′s green development in the new era, and then explores specific paths of promoting green development in China in the new era. Firstly, the essential meaning of Green development in China in the new era is a logical transformation from capital only to an equal emphasis both on ecology and capital, and then to ecological priority in economic and social devel- opment. Next,at present, China′s green development is confronted with many difficulties, such as vague theoretical basis for the supporting policies of green development, asynchronous progress with industrial growth, under-organized agricul- tural production, diversified and heterogeneous agricultural production entities, etc; Thirdly, the current green develop- ment in China should be pushed forward through the cultivation and stimulation of the social rationality of the economic a- gents, orientation to upper reaches of the global industrial chain, complying with the general industrial layout of the cen- tral and western regions, sound supporting policies, a full play of the stimulating and restraining functions of the agricul- tural production organizations, renovation of the traditional family-based agricultural production style, cultivation of new agricultural business entities, and standardization the employment of rural-oriented capital, etc.
