The Baoning Municipal Records in Jiajing times, handed down from the Ming dynasty, is a record of the county annals of Langzhong in Sichuan province, which includes many common Chinese characters. The paper selects the common characters of“lù（ ）” “chǒu（ ）” “sù（ ）” “bèi （ ）” “hóu（ ）” “xīu（ ）”and“zhù （𠃍）”to examine and interpret, in the hope of making contributions to the collation and research of the Baoning Municipal Records in Jiajing times, and to the revision of Chinese Dictionary, A Complete Collection of Chinese Characters and other dictionaries.
