Abstract:In the course of practice in business organizations, vocational college teachers face problems of self, peer, corporate and social identities. The current system for teacher development in vocational colleges and the level of school-enterprise cooperation in China have caused cultural and realistic confusions for vocational college teachers' self-identification and other identifications. The "guest identity" confusion has a great negative effect on teachers' level of effort and achievement in their business practice. To resolve the identity dilemma and improve teachers' practice results, first, college teachers should conduct true professional practice in businesses and professional business working experiences should be set as a criterion for new teachers' formal employment; secondly, we should create a cultural environment for professional course teachers' identification; and thirdly, we should create a mechanism for teachers' independent professional development and cultivate their professional personality.
