Abstract:Paradigm innovation imposes new requirements for college English teaching in China in the new era. Based on graduates' general dissatisfactions with college English teaching, the evolution of college English teaching orientation since the reform and opening-up, and the enlightenment from case studies of college flipped English teaching, this paper proposes that, for future college English teaching, we must further accelerate the innovation of current classroom teaching paradigms to win the hearts and minds of college students—the major group for college English education in China, to fulfill the great mission our country assigns to college English teaching, and to highlight the historical values of college English education of the times.
