Abstract:The dialectical relationship between "being" and "non-being" in the quotations of Dandang's paintings is a central issue in the study of Chinese culture, and the "Golden Mean" of not "being" and not "non-being" proved from between "being" and "non-being" turns out to be the very path for correction of the spiritual realm. Being a seeker of the Law, Dandang made his last presentations in his paintings of“if there's a single stroke of painting, it's no painting, if there's not a single stroke of painting, it's no painting”and“No Zen in the painting, only painting can communicate Zen, will say, will say, otherwise, otherwise”etc., which actually stems from his life experiences of existence and his spiritual realm corrections. Dandang's art revolves around his ideals, combines poetry, calligraphy, and painting into an integrated whole, and pursues a simple and unsophisticated realm, thus forming a unique personal style.
