Abstract:This paper argues that the construction grammar and pragmatics should be integrated into the theory of constructional pragmatics to guide English grammar teaching, so as to make up for the shortage of English grammar teaching under the guidance of generative grammar. This paper firstly studies about the literature review of construction grammar and pragmatics, as well as some background information, and points out the research gaps. The second part is concerned with the theoretical framework based on the cognitive linguistics. Finally, on the basis of this theoretical framework, suggestions are put forward on English grammar teaching, in order to develop a new perspective of English grammar teaching
