Abstract:"Superego violence" constitutes the basic logic of enjoyment in Seven. Superego violence can uncannily fuses the two originally oppositional entities of "law" and "enjoyment". It is through this fusion that superego violence transcends both the pathological violence in traditional thriller movie classic such as Psycho and the transgressive violence in everyday life. The theatrical constructions of superego violence in Seven illustrate the contour of the ultimate crime and the dislocatory difference within the realm of "evil".
