Yanting County has a long history of salt production, well-known in North Sichuan area, and has the extremely important status from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China in the history of salt in Northern Sichuan. The reason that this paper is based on the research and development of the salt production and sale in Yanting County, which was less involved in the former scholars’study, is intended to restore the production techniques and forms of transportation of salt during the Republic of China, At the same time with the collection of the Republic of China archives and related literature, revaling the benefits of salt production and sales disputes, and as a basis, extending to the local characteristics of Yanting County salt production and marketing.
