The theory of names in Confucianism is not often mentioned, but it runs through Confucius's thought. On the whole, Confucius thought mainly reflects the legal and practical connotation of names. It is not epistemological issue about the relationship between concept and entity. The reason why it is so unique is that his name reflects the special history, in which ethical community just split. In this paper, we will use Marx's theory of practical language to analyze the special historical phenomenon reflected by the theory of names.
