Abstract:Abstract: Holiday leisure had distinct features of time in the early days of the PRC. The office holidays issued by the central government at that time guaranteed Chinese people's rights for recreation. At the same time, the government undertook transformation on holidays which did not meet the need of social construction by adjusting political and collective elements in the context of social background. In the 1950s, the attitude towards holidays was more rational and culture of leisure and activities had been comparatively better recognized and inherited. Today, the experience of the inheritance and transformation in holidays and leisure since the early days of new China has significant theoretical and practical meaning for its further development.
