Abstract:Daughter of the River and Good Children of the Flowers are Hong Ying's two autobiographical novels. In these novels, Hong Ying has narrated history and used two narrative techniques ——spatial narrative and female narrative. In this way, Hong Ying has constructed a literary image of Chongqing. Firstly, Hong Ying has written the history of Nan'an District, which concludes the starving three-year of the Great Famine and the miserable Cultural Revolution; Secondly, Hong Ying continues to describe Nan'an District, using a dark narrative tone; Thirdly, from the perspective of feminism, she has built a group of female images that are struggling in despair and escaping from darkness.Based on the subjective experience of life, Hong Ying has constructed a unique city image ——the urban slums and a unique residents image——the urban poor. Because of this, Hong Ying has depicted an individual image about Chongqing in Chongqing literature ——the urban poor who struggle in brink of life, trying to face darkness and chase brightness .
