Abstract:Hemingway's personality and writing style are very distinct with his life being strongly autobiographical and legendary and deeply contradictionary. In order to highlight the masculine temperament, Hemingway loved intense exercise, and participated in the war, which reflected his mother-disliking complex and masculinity. However his mother's influence could not be ridded of; Ernest Hemingway was the representative of the lost-generation, creating reporter-writing style and Iceberg Principle, and won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1954. He constantly went beyond his own creation. As the national spirit of the USA, Hemingway adopted the essence from the original culture of Indians in America and Negroes in Africa. He was of unyielding man, but ultimately chose to commit suicide
