Abstract:The national character of Japan is the unique character in the long process of development, which has universal significance in the Japanese society as a whole, has representative of Japan for the world. The formation of Japan's national character is not unrelated to the geographical position of Japan, but the history of Japan has a great influence on its national character. In this paper, by exploring the historical development context of Japan from the Nara period to the Meiji period, the renewal understanding is gained that Japan's unique history of development influenced national character and for the study of Japanese society and culture.
