The Xiaomiao airport located at the Anling river plain, the west of Tianwang mountain in Xiaomiao township where was situated about 7 kilometers to the west of Xichang city. It was built in 1932 and abandoned in 1975. The airport was built and abandoned two times during the 44 years, but it did not cover up the historical achievements during its existence. The Xiaomiao airport was the product in the contention of Liu Wenhui and Liu Xiang, but it played an important role in the connection with India, Chongqing, and Kunming as the military airport of national government during the war. So it opened another export of mainland and abroad, accelerating the victory of the Anti-Japanese to some extent
