Abstract:Wang Jingqi, living in the early Qing dynasty, was knowledgeable and ambitious. In his late life, he went to Nian Gengyao for shelter and followed him to suppress a rebellion in the west of China. He composed his essay according to what he saw and heard on the way. As one of the representative works of QingDynastyNotes, this book documents the early Qing officials, northwest frontier war, politics of northwest minority and other relevant facts. Although the book embodies his high literary attainments, Wang's benevolent kingcraft thought and his "people-oriented"thought are more valuable, which is often ignored by researchers. This book is based on his own experience, so it provides a valuable first-hand materials for the later research on Qing dynasty.
