With the advances made in the strategic restructuring of the econonmy,college gruduates job markets and employment ways have been constantly broadened,which requires colleges to expand the quality connotation of a talented person,to adjust the goal of personnel training and to carry out competence-oriented education to adapt the change in human resource markets.Xichang College is a typical newly-built undergraduate college in ethnic regions,and it takes on a prominent tast of personnel training for the Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.This article analyzes the advantages and problems existed in competence-oriented education in Xichang College.Meanwhile,it puts forward some strategic concept on carrying out competence-oriented education,whose goal is to explore a suitable way for a newly-built undergraduate college competence-oriented education in the ethnic regions.
