| The man and the woman in the battle of wits happening in John Donne’s poem The Flea presents an equally interactive relationship,and the flea,the only witness of the battle in the poem,symbolizes the hedonist thought prevailing in Europe of John’s day.Putting the two together,we get to know that the poem is actually the externalization of two different moral ideologies latent in John Donne himself. |
