The theory of the correlation of the phonetic form and morphological process of ancient Chinese was first advanced by Prof.Pan Wu-yun in 1987,using to explain the non-homophonic pictophonetic characters.The substance of the theory is disyllable pattern and the morphological process of ancient Chinese,and the methodology of the theory is the historical comparative method of Sino-Tibetan.
