As an important theory of cognition and communication,relevance theory reexamines the studies of context epistemologically and methodologically.Epistemologically,relevance theory takes context as a kind of psychological assumption which is the foundation of cognition and communication.Methodologically,relevance theory promotes the shift of context studies from objective analysis to psychological integration and from description to interpretation and thus initiates the paradigm shift of context studies.
