Ancient Chinese hermit poetry went through a very long and tortuous process.It originated in the Pre-Qin Dynasty,formed in the Han and Wei Dynasties and developed to its summit in the East Jin Dynasty because of the great poet Tao Yuan-ming.It had remained as one of the major themes until the Sui Dynasty.Before it the hermit poetry had changed four times.
