Teaching of the reading course plays an important role in professional education for English majors. However, many English majors face a lot of problems in the course of reading. The course of reading does not help them much in improving their reading ability. This paper analyzes the reading strategies and present situation of reading teaching. By analyzing the existing problems in the teaching and students＇ reading modes, combining my own teaching experience,I will bring up some useful and new teaching methods for major English reading teaching.
