Philology is the basis to learn Chinese.In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,the learning of Chinese characters is always the difficulty of foreign students and the teaching of them is always the difficult point and key point of the teachers.In order to stimulate the students to learn Chinese and achieve the teaching aim,the teachers are required to have good Chinese philological cultivation and knowledge structure.However,mastering some theories and methods relevant to teaching of Chinese characters and learning well traditional philology are important ways for the teachers to improve their Chinese philological cultivation.
