All along, there exists some misinterpretation of this view put forward by Confucius ＂A good scholar will make an official＂. It tends to be interpreted literally without real understanding among both the citizens and the scholars. As a result, the remarks on the works of Confucius have become the target of public criticism instead of reflecting the positive significance. This thesis aims at rending the quotation of Confucius a faithful interpretation by the thought of the golden mean in order to explore the guidance to the public ethical education.
