To approach what the contemporary literature of Chinese minority nationality is, we should firstly discriminate these concepts：nationality, minority nationality and the contemporary Chinese lierature. Probing into the problem from the three aspects of language, life theme, and writer＇s nationality is all seemingly reasonable, but it is hard to avoid deviation of one-sidedness. The essay gives the contemporary literature of Chinese minority nationality a definition that is the literature created by authors from minority nationalities ; especially created with the minority nationality language, and related with the minority nationality life by the authors, since the People＇ s Republic of China was founded.
