Abstract:This paper analyses the strong points and shortcomings of the popular communicative activities used in spoken English classroom in China to look into the effectiveness of these activities. The goal is to strengthen the teacher and learner awareness of classroom activities aiming at promoting students' performance. For the teacher, understanding classroom communicative activities, being able to motivate the learner's contributions are important in spoken English teaching, so the author hopes this paper can provide teachers with awareness to make conscious "the effectiveness of activities" in teaching.
