＂X比N还N＂ is a special pattern of＂ 比字句＂in contemporary Chinese. This structure is in common use in oral language and literary works. This paper focuses on the differences between ＂former N＂ and ＂latter N＂ in the semantic expression, and their semantic constraint in this sentence pattern in combination with cognitive linguistics analysis.
