Abstract:This report, with the investigation of the Pula people of a village in Yunnan, describes their religious beliefs and the conditions of their religious ceremonies. Moreover this paper presents the forms of the religious life of the Pula people by describing aspects such as Shamanism (Mogong), the practice of choosing particular families to host religious ceremonies (Long Tou Hu), Exorcism (Qu Gui Yishi), the Dragon Worship Ceremony (Ji Long Yishi),the Spirit-summoning Ceremony (Zhao Hun Yishi), the Ancestor Worship Ceremony (Ji Zu Yishi), and the Sealing of the Gate of Wealth Ceremony (Feng Cai Men), ect. Through these aspects, this paper expounds on the Pula people' s current religious beliefs and culture and what trends towards change are being exhibited.
