Abstract:Bilingual teachers are a core element of bilingual education,and the lack of qualified teachers has become the bottleneck that hinders the development of bilingual education both at home and abroad.The nature of bilingual education demands that bilingual teachers be endowed with higher personal quality than other kinds of instructors.In China,while training Chinese bilingual teachers,we may use the experience of other countries for reference,but we have to,at the same time,work out our own ways with present Chinese characteristics to nur- ture the bilingual professionals.The suggested approaches to train bilingual educators include educating those se- lected among the current teaching staff,cultivating personnel with dimensional capability and foreign language background,adding bilingual education courses or specialty to university curricula,enhancing pertinent interna- tional cooperation,etc.
