This paper mainly discusses the six phenomena and three characteristics of wedding customs in Sichuan Province in People's Republic of China. The six phenomena include: the new wedding style prevailed in many areas, the simplified and more convenient concept of independent marriage, simplified wedding ceremonies strengthened, international marriage, normal divorce, and loosened marriage taboos; the three characteristics are: an imbalanced situation between urban and rural areas, a mixed existence of new and old Chinese and western wedding ceremonies, and an abnormal marriage concept of some Sichuanese.
